The Golden Bears led 55-0 at halftime and never traveled any direction but forward.
The KU backline was superb in the first half with Dave Kornock slotting a penalty kick, scoring a try and nine conversions as he tallied 26 points on the day.

Kutztown beat Virginia 34-5. KU controlled the game for the most part and was rarely under pressure despite Virginia’s size, speed and physicality.

The Kutztown Rugby Football Club was founded in 1984, by a Kutztown student– Mr. Andrew Lewis. Lewis’ interest in the sport prompted him to buy a book on rugby, and along with the help of forty of his friends and fellow Kutztown students – he held the first rugby practice.

The 2009 Kutztown University Rugby Club first side is very unique. The Golden Bears blend a host of veterans with a core of very talented young players, crowned by a current USA Eagle 7’s player. This blend of youth and experience creates an explosive mixture of excitement. The team possesses a very high level of rugby skills and game-day savvy.
